But there are other offshoots in the field of pediatrics as well which require nurses and practitioners choosing this career to be highly proficient in all things regarding this field. One such career is that of an endoscopy nurse. Endoscopy is the art of looking inside the human body using an endoscope which is a microscopic camera on a cable which can be inserted into the human body. This is mainly used to study organs internally to diagnose complicated problems or to perform complex operations like heart surgery. An endoscopy nurse is responsible for arranging and managing the equipment and then processing lab reports. The use of endoscopy in pediatrics comes during pregnancy, gastroenterology, respiratory problems and reproductive problems. Another sensitive area of medicine is oncology. Oncology practitioners study cancerous tumours and their effects on the human body. Oncology nurses are required to often help in diagnosing patients, getting them ready for chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions if it comes to that. But even after successful surgeries, oncology nurses are supposed to follow up with after care for the patients and to monitor their progress regularly. In pediatrics, this would involve cases like brain tumours and other similar cases in children. The job of nurses and medial practitioners are seemingly one of the toughest jobs on Earth. It is a job of living under constant pressure and the beck and call of hospitals or patients. So if one is interested in looking for pediatric nurse jobs, one needs to have the basic qualifications like possessing a degree in medicine and advanced pediatrics from recognized universities and also possess human qualities like sensitivity and a feeling of love and care towards other humans.
